Requirements & Guidelines

  • 🎂
    All participants must be aged between 18 and 26 years of age. The programme is open to both males and females.
  • 🚗
    Must possess a valid Class B Driving Licence free of convictions for serious traffic offences (driving under the influence, causing death or injury by driving).
  • 🛂
    Must possess a valid passport whose expiry should be beyond April 2027.
  • 🇧🇼
    Must be a citizen of Botswana and conversant in English and Setswana languages.
  • 📚
    The programme shall entail both theory and practical tasks to be completed by eligible participants.
  • 🏆
    Successful applicants shall assume Road Safety Ambassador status for their lifetime and shall lead by example to other road users.
  • 🚫
    Employees of Emergency Assist 991 or sponsors of the programme are not eligible to apply.
  • 🔗
    Application process is strictly online via the EA991 Driving Academy Facebook page.

Procedure & Timelines

8 – 26 June 2026
Applications for entry into the competition are open.
24 July 2026
Names of shortlisted applicants who meet the competition requirements will be announced.
14 August 2026
Online Theory Test opens for shortlisted applicants. Only 14 candidates (7 males, 7 females) with the highest score in the shortest time will progress to the National Finals.
4 September 2026
Names of the 14 National Finals candidates will be announced.
19 September 2026
National Finals — practical driving tasks. Venue to be confirmed.
